Dinkel Outperforms Himself at Grabfeld Anniversary Rally

Rallye driver in action
Sulzdorf an der Lederhecke, 07-05-2025

The 30th Grabfeld Rally on July 5, 2025, with start and finish in Sulzdorf an der Lederhecke, will be remembered as a true motorsport highlight. Under summery conditions, nearly 300 vehicles took to the start line, and thousands of spectators lined the six diverse special stages. Patrik Dinkel and Michael Teufel led the record-breaking field with car number one in their Brose Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, drove a flawless race, and secured an impressive second place overall.

The demanding routes, with constantly changing surfaces—tarmac, gravel, and concrete slabs—required maximum concentration. The lack of cut barriers made the stages particularly challenging and led to retirements for several teams. The sporting finale took place on the “Sulzdorfring,” located right next to the rally center, delivering its usual goosebump-inducing atmosphere. The emotional highlight came well after midnight, when the winners drove their cars into the festival tent and were enthusiastically celebrated by the crowd. The overall victory went to Daniel Rexhausen and Nico Otterbach in the brand-new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2.

Patrik Dinkel was highly satisfied with the clean run and the excellent teamwork with his new co-driver Michael Teufel. He expressed his gratitude to supporters, sponsors, fans, and his family. The co-driver also praised the unique atmosphere of the event, comparing it to a major music festival—where a small town welcomes thousands of fans for a weekend and everyone pulls together.

The next outing is already scheduled for July 19 at the Main-Kinzig Rally in Wächtersbach. There, Anna Hinrichs will join the team as co-driver. The goal is to build on the strong performance from the Grabfeld Rally.
