University study with in depth practical experience

Bachelor Automotive technology and management

The automotive technology and management degree program is divided into two areas of emphasis: automotive mechatronics and automotive business engineering. So this dual-track studies program is suitable for both technically-minded and business-oriented students.

Training content and university curriculum

Automotive mechatronics: in addition to basic knowledge of vehicle development – including mechanics, electrical systems, electronics and computer science – the course of study also covers specialist areas such as sensors and actuators. Aspects of business administration, project management and presentation methods complete the curricula.

Automotive business engineering: this course of study focuses on a balanced combination of basic technical knowledge, including mechatronics and materials science, industrial engineering, controlling, marketing and sales all the way to project management and presentation methods.

The following applies to both specializations: during a 14-week basic internship and operational work during the semester break, you will gain extensive experience that you can put to use later on in your career. An exciting way for interested students to gain practical experience is to participate in the CAT (Coburg Automotive Team) project, where they can design, build and compete with their own race car.

The university is located in Coburg; the Brose apprenticeship component can be completed in Coburg or Hallstadt near Bamberg.

Frequently asked questions

  • Basic information on university study with in-depth practical experience (Dual-track studies)

The Bavarian State Ministry of Sciences, Research and the Arts has sponsored the Hochschule Bayern e.V. Project for secondary education in Bavaria since 2006. Brose and the Coburg University of Applied Sciences have been cooperation partners since the program’s inception.

Brose wants to enable students with select specializations to obtain advanced qualifications through practical experience. This is why the operational portion of the program is almost double that of the standard requirement for internships.

  • How many courses does Brose offer?

Brose cooperates with the Coburg University of Applied Sciences on the concept within the scope of the Bachelor of Automotive Technology and Management and Electrical Engineering and Information Technology programs.

The program’s theoretical and practical components are perfectly coordinated: switching between university study and practical work in the company is systematic – both during the semester and the breaks for more in-depth insight into the day-to-day work you’ll be performing the future. Standard academic structures don’t even come close to bringing you the practical experience you will gain here.

Despite all of these advantages, the entire course of study including your Bachelor’s thesis is just seven semesters. You graduate from the program with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. We offer you comprehensive support, both with your project thesis here at Brose and your Bachelor’s thesis.

  • What qualifications are required?

You have either completed your higher secondary education and are qualified to attend a university or university of applied sciences or have demonstrated your ability to participate in the dual studies program.

Our trainers will guide you during your course of study, especially when working on seminar, project and Bachelor’s theses here at Brose. They will also help you plan a stay abroad at one of our many international locations.

Once everything is prepared to transition to full-time employment, we will work with you to determine your field of specialty even before you complete your degree – bearing your personal abilities, skills and goals in mind.

Of course, we also expect you to be interested in working in technology or business. Naturally, we expect the same qualities from you that we wish to see in all Brose employees: team spirit, ambition, pleasure in sharing success and enjoyment of responsibility are attributes that will have a positive impact on your career at Brose.

  • Will I be paid by Brose?

As a Brose student in the dual-track studies program, you will receive a training allowance. This will ensure you remain financially independent and can concentrate on your studies.

  • What are the deadlines?

The university is located in Coburg; the Brose apprenticeship component can be completed in Coburg or Hallstadt near Bamberg.

Apprenticeship training always starts on October 1. Applications must be received by August 31 of the preceding year.

  • How to apply at Brose?
