Supplier Quality Engineer Prototype

Your Job Specification

  • Develop a process to formally release prototype suppliers (standard forms, quality system audit at supplier, inspection requirements, support TSO or CSO meetings, etc.)
  • Develop prototype feasibility study and APQP processes to ensure prototype suppliers agree and comply with all Brose drawing requirements prior to sourcing
  • Track deviations of supplier NOK conditions to ensure corrective actions and/or tolerance concessions are realized to address supplier NOK conditions identified in incoming shipment
  • Manage supplier rejections and corrective actions(8-Ds) for identified supplier NOK conditions (Training, 8-D reviews, On-site verification at supplier (e.g. Control Plan walk), Cost recovery)
  • Develop a supplier performance monitoring system and collaborate with BNA Purchasing to ensure proper escalation of poor performing suppliers

Your Profile

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Quality Engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of three to five years of automotive quality engineering experience. Working knowledge of plastic injection molding, stamping and assembly processes is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), GD&T and problem solving techniques
  • SAP experience is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
